Cottages at Doonbeg Ireland Real Estate

The Estate

Spanning 380 acres, the Doonbeg estate is home to what may be the last true links course built in either Ireland or Great Britain. Two-time British Open champion Greg Norman designed the course along 1.5 miles of crescent-shaped beach and centuries-old dunes, with the Atlantic Ocean visible from the green, fairway, or tee of 16 of the 18 holes. When it officially opened on July 9, 2002, the course was immediately designated as Golf Digest’s “Best New International Course.”

Shortly after the course opened, the rest of the Doonbeg estate began to take shape. The first building completed was the Lodge, located adjacent to the course with sweeping views of the Atlantic. The Lodge houses the Clubhouse, Pro Shop, Lodge Suites, the formal dining room, a private pub for Members and Owners, and the enticing White Horses Spa. The adjoining Garden House Suites, Norman Suites, and Courtyard Suites afford vistas of the Skivileen River and pasturelands beside the Club.

The latest addition to the estate is The Links Cottages at Doonbeg – A Timbers Resorts Residence Club located steps from the golf course and near the Lodge. Offered as residential interests, the four-bedroom Links Cottages feature panoramic views of the fairways and countryside, and are the perfect way to create your legacy on the Doonbeg estate.
