Hurling
Hurling is a fast-paced outdoor sport in which players use a “hurley” or their hands to hit a sliothar (small leather ball) while attempting to score downfield. The “Banner County” of Clare excels in the sport, winning at All Ireland level in 1995 and 1997. However, they have failed to “find form” since, and their last All Ireland appearance was in 2002, when they lost to “The Kilkenny Cats.”
