Festivals

A vast number of festivals and events take place throughout the year in and around Doonbeg. The most famous of these are the Willie Keane Festival (traditional music and Irish set dancing), the Doonbeg Jazz Festival, and the Doonbeg Family Festival. Be sure to ask the Doonbeg concierges for current information about local events not mentioned in this overview as they spring up from time to time and should not be missed.

 

Spring - The Fleadh Nua festival has been in County Clare for over 30 years.  This spring festival focuses on educating participants in music, song and dance.

Summer - The Doonbeg summer is truly the season for festivals.  From music and arts to sporting and social events there is entertainment for everyone that showcases the local Irish culture.

Autumn - Dancing, Oysters and Matchmaking are the focuses of the Autumn events in the Doonbeg area.  Probably the most unique, the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival, centers around pairing eligible young men and women within County Clare.

Winter - The Micho Russell Festival, is located in Doolin and honors this traditional musician.  The festival is known as one of the best traditional music events of Ireland.
